These were my submissions for my final in my color theory (“Basic Design: Color”) class this term. The assignment was to do a series of three pieces, using any medium we wanted, tied together with some kind of theme. I decided to do three tattoo-inspired illustrations.
6”x12” on smooth bristol, drawn in pencil, inked with Micron pen, and colored with Prismacolor and Bic Mark-It markers.
I drew the Flower of Life with a circular stencil, which is why it’s so wonky but at least I tried. It came out okay in the end, but that was definitely the hardest one.
The “Carpe diem” is actually a rework of an original design I made probably close to 10 years ago.
